Pure Two-Way
The JEM M7s Reference benefits from the simplicity of the two-way with its mere one crossover point. The filter is not only designed for neutral rendition but also for maximum driver integration and retention of dynamics. The system is also optimized for relative close proximity to walls and usability in the challenging acoustic environment of the modern living room.
A large chunk of the design focus was aimed at reducing
harmonic (THD) and intermodulation distortions (IMD). Especially the latter being of special interest to two-ways. Multiple technologies have been employed so that the system is capable of unchanged undistorted music at higher play levels.

|
 |
Flux modulation reduction
One of those technologies is the use of copper in and outside of the non-lineair part of the magnetic circuit for significant reduction of so-called Force Factor Modulation and also eddy current distortion in the motor system. Force Factor Modulation is an important contributor to IMD.

Pistonic Cone Behaviour
The quality of the cone is also a very important factor in lowering IMD and THD. Both the drivers of the JEM M7s Reference feature a cone of hard and stiff material. The woofer cone is made from machined Magnesium. Magnesium has comparable benefits as the much lauded metal Beryllium. Such as being light and deform resistant and having high internal damping. Beryllium however is highly toxic and therefore not used in JEM systems.
The tweeter cone is made of pure Corundum (Sapphire). Due to the extreme hardness of the material (Mohs' hardness 9), these are inherently very stable cones.
These mechanical properties make them behave like a piston during sound reproduction. So basicly moving without deforming and corresponding additional modulation. Resulting in truly high clarity and low distortion figures. On top of that, the piston-like behaviour makes the driver follow the original signal in a very exact manner. Resulting in a very detailed life-like music reproduction.

The Cabinet
A highly resistent and inert cabinet is the basis of any true high end loudspeaker system. The cabinet is made from solid hardwood. About 70% is Walnut taken from the oldest parts of the trunk for their dramatic grain patterns. The cabinets are designed and produced in-house by my hand. Improved facetting for smoother frequency response and powerful stereo imaging.

Thorough Measures
The tweeter of the JEM M7s Reference is mounted in a very solid separate space. In this way the energy coming from the back of the woofer cannot access the back of the tweeter assembly and mix with its output.
On the other side of the frequency spectrum is the flow optimized port made of thick industrial turned aluminium. This port's rigidity and inertness makes a serious contribution to prevent low frequency energy losses and makes the system punch way above its weight.

Components used
All of the best materials are used. Almost all manufactured in Europe. A 6.9 inch Magnesium woofer with new specifications from SEAS in Norway and the latest much improved 25mm concave Corundum tweeter from Accuton® in Germany form the moving heart of the system. The drivers receive the JEM RAS™ (Residual Anomaly Suppression) treatment to avoid harshness as so many times heard in high resolution systems.
Specially selected Paper-in-Oil series capacitors, oil impregnated MKP caps and ultra quiet Jantzen Copper Foil inductors also contribute and make for a very black musical background. |
All contribute to a high resolution but gentle laid back performance. Filters and drivers are all hard-wired and fixated with high conductive leadfree silver solder. Inner cables are silver plated OFC with a large (>35%) content of silver for constant crystal clear performance over the years. |

 |
Individual Tuning
In quality control every pair is measured and heard. When necessary individually tuned to compensate for any driver or filter component spec deviation. In addition there is an user adjustable tweeter level. Carried out in the most audiophile way with external Jantzen Superes resistor jumpers.

Contact
I demonstrate my loudspeakers in an environment where the chance of client judgement error is the lowest. A residential setting; my own living room. Because of this we do require appointments. Perhaps a little inconvenient but you will have an uninterrupted private session plus my full attention. In addition there are demonstration days throughout the year. For the dates see my blog .
